Together, let's 'give it LOADS' and create a brighter future for young people in need.
University Campus of Football Business (‘UCFB’) is offering four discounted scholarships per academic year to Manx-resident students in memory of our charity’s inspiration, Lucas ‘Looky’ Martin, who lost his life to meningitis aged 21. Lucas was a well-known local sportsman who gave 100% both on and off the field of play. He was loving, optimistic, ambitious, determined, and selfless (or ‘LOADS’ for short) and we’ve adopted ‘Give it LOADS’ as our charity’s tagline to encapsulate what we want to promote in his name.
UCFB offers degree courses in sports coaching, administration, and marketing, providing a superb qualification for students seeking to work in the multi-billion-pound sports industry. Its main UK campuses are located in Manchester and London. For details of the various courses offered and the entry requirements, please visit UCFB’s website at www.ucfb.ac.uk.
We are looking to support candidates that want to ‘give it LOADS’ and excel in life, but who may have been held back or knocked off course by personal circumstances outside of their control. These may include disability, close family bereavement, difficult financial circumstances or other similar factors that make it harder for them to unlock their potential.
As well as meeting our candidate requirements, applicants must also have the UCAS points requirements for the relevant UCFB course (details on website).
Applicants must have studied to ‘A’- level standard (or equivalent) and be eligible for the full Isle of Man grant award of £6,750 per academic year (evidenced by an offer email or letter from the Department of Education, Sport & Culture).
Applicants must be prepared to attend an interview with the trustees of Looky’s Aid and meet any interview or induction requirements of UCFB. No offer of assistance will be final until these steps are complete (even if an in-principle yes is given at an earlier stage).
